Yonghee Kim ist eine südkoreanische freischaffende Komponistin und Klavierspielerin. 2000 anfing sie als Jugendliche, an der Korea National University of Arts in Seoul (Pre-college division) Komposition ein Jahr lang zu studieren. Anschliessend studierte sie Komposition an der gleichen Universität und erfolgreich schloss das Studium ab. Danach flog sie nach Deutschland und studierte weiter Komposition im Master an der Universität der Künste Berlin bei Prof. Walter Zimmermann.
Sie beschäftigt sich im Moment intensiv mit verschiedenen neuen Projekten, in denen sie sowohl als Komponistin als auch als Interpret mitwirkt. Ab 2022 interpretiert sie hauptsächlich Barockmusik in ihrem eigenem Kanal im Youtube. Sie wohnt seit 2012 in Berlin und ihre eigenen Werke wurden beim Verlag Neue Musik in Berlin publiziert: Verlag Neue Musik Berlin
Ihr grosse Interesse liegt an Barockmusik, und zwar deren klare Form und wesentliche Ornamente. Als nächstes Projekt hat sie vor, eine Kantate für Barockinstrumente und drei Sänger zu komponieren, die auf alten koreanischen Text basiert.
서울 출생으로 예비학교를 거쳐 한국예술종합학교, 베를린 국립 예술대학에서 작곡을 공부하였다. 2008년 서울 문화제 주최 실내악 부문 작곡상을, 2011년에는 토루 다케미츠의 작품 Water-ways 에 대한 짧은 글로 객석평론상을 수상했다. 유학 기간 동안에는 독일학술교류재단 (DAAD)에서 제공하는 장학금으로 생활, 이후 현재까지 다양한 장학재단 (Musikfonds Berlin, Contemporary Arts Alliance, Stipendium für Ernste Musik und Klangkunst 등)의 지원으로 작품 활동을 진행 중이다. 2015년에는 베를린 라인스베르크 작곡상을 수상, 2017년부터 페어락 노이에 무직 베를린 (Verlag Neue Musik Berlin)에서 작품이 출판되고 있다: Verlag Neue Musik Berlin
바로크 음악에 사용되었던 다양한 꾸밈음의 형태와 표기, 기능 및 음악수사학과 음형이론 (Figurenlehre)에 관련하여 작곡가의 작품 전반에 걸쳐 있는 음악적 맥락과 취향에 다가갈 수있을 것이다.
최근에는 바로크 건반 악기인 클라비코드에 대한 관심으로, 연주자로서 도메니코 스카를라티, 바하, 헨델의 음악을 중심으로 음원 작업 중이다. 음원은 유튜브 채널 Musikraum (https://www.youtube.com/@musikraum_musicspace) 에서 감상할 수있다.

Yonghee Kim is a South Korean freelance composer and piano player. As a teenager, she began studying composition for a year at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul (pre-college division). She studied composition at the same university and completed her studies. Then she flew to Germany and continued studying composition for a master’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Walter Zimmermann.
She received various awards and scholarships: Composition Prize in chamber music at Seoul Music Festival (2008), The Auditorium Prize for Criticism in Korea (2011), DAAD scholarship (2013-2015), CAA (Contemporary Arts Alliance) scholarship (2015 ), Berlin Rheinsberger Composition Prize (2015), Elsa Neumann Scholarship from the State of Berlin (2016) etc.
She is currently involved in various new projects in which she participates both as a composer and as a performer. From 2022 she mainly interprets baroque music on her own channel on YouTube. She has lived in Berlin since 2012 and her own works have been published by the Verlag Neue Musik in Berlin: Verlag Neue Musik Berlin
She is very interested in baroque music, namely its clear form and essential ornaments. Her next project is to compose a cantata for baroque instruments and three singers based on ancient Korean texts.
